How can I learn to swing dance?
Swing dancing is easily accessible, especially in a community or dance school. You don't need any previous experience - many dance schools offer introductory courses for absolute beginners. Do I need special music for swing dancing?
The classic music for swing dancing comes from the 1930s and 40s - big band jazz, Dixieland or rhythm & blues. However, many dancers also dance to contemporary swing, electro swing or live bands. More important than the style of music is the "swing feeling" - in other words, a clear pulse and danceable rhythm.
