Maria has always had a soft spot for anything retro – clothes, music, atmosphere. The numbers show it too: her Spotify age is 95 years.

Once she consciously signed up for a Lindy Hop course at university. Right during her very first solo jazz steps during the warm-up, she realised that she had discovered a world she wanted to stay in for the rest of her life.

Since then she has not missed an opportunity to work on her dancing. She has learnt both roles, joined the dance troupe „Hellzapoppin’ Disaster“ and performed at the Tanzfest Basel, at „Zürich Tanzt Polyball“, at „Is There Hop“ and other local events. She even got her 0.0001 seconds of Charleston airtime on SRF.

Even though Maria is still constantly learning herself, she can hardly wait to pass on, impart and spread the joy, energy and passion for swing in her classes.

„Home is where you dance with others, and dancing is life,“ wrote Stephen King in „11/22/63“.

He was so right.
