Where are the Country Men?

On June 3, 1931, Aliyah Rabia was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As Dakota Staton she performed at jazz hotspots as a vocalist. She’s best known for her versions of Stan Getz’s ‘Misty‘ of Gershwins’ ‘I can’t get started‘. Also her hit ‘Late, Late Show‘ from the late 1950’s is well known. But what I find much more fun is her ‘Country Man‘ from the 2003 album ‘Congratulations to Someone‘. Also ‘Girl Talk‘ and ‘Heartbreak‘ from the same album are my favorites these days. A well made site to check out is her profile on almusic.
