In our workshops we offer deeper insights into swing dance. You will find access to Balboa, Shag, Charleston, Solo Jazz and even Electro Swing. Our offer covers the whole history of swing dance and allows you to satisfy your growing curiosity. Course Content: Discover the joy of swing dancing with Yaiza’s comprehensive Shim Sham workshop! Spread over two Saturdays, this workshop is perfect for beginners with no prior knowledge. The Shim Sham originated in the late 1920s and was popularized by tap dancers Leonard Reed and Willie Bryant. It became a favorite among Lindy Hop dancers at the Savoy Ballroom, where it became a staple of social dance events. In this workshop, you will learn the classic steps and patterns of the Shim Sham, including the Shim Sham Break, Push-and-Cross, and Tacky Annie. Yaiza’s step-by-step guidance ensures that you develop confidence and skill, even if it’s your first time on the dance floor. Don’t miss the chance to dive into the vibrant world of Lindy Hop and experience the exciting feeling of mastering the Shim Sham. Lindy Hop is an African-American couple dance that originated in Harlem, New York City in the 1920s and 30s. Lindy Hop is danced to swing music by Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, and many more. Learn all the basics of Lindy Hop like the Swing Out and the Charleston. Experience the joy of Lindy Hop and all the wonderful people with their smiling faces!
